the regions in elinari are vast. there are several environmental differences depending on the region.
WARNINGS
this series is still a work in progress. you can reach out to the creator by checking out their carrd here. the series is slated to cover sensitive topics such as racism, mental health and death, though this may change later. release date tba.

WORLD

ELINARI
the kingdom's regions are vastly different from each other. it's landlocked to the west and south, though the regions are as follows;Central/Main Elinari: the area the kingdom’s capital is situated in. several of the nobles and even the royal family seem to revere the first queen as a goddess. this area also houses Irdalide Soul Academy, an institution specializing in magic.
Northern/Native Elinari: a harsh tundra area to the far north, but a lovely forest closer towards the castle town. this area began as what was elinari originally, with the other areas becoming assimilated via alliances. the people of the origin of this vast kingdom worship deities akin to animals for their bountiful hunts.
Eastern Elinari: the gorgeous seaside area of the kingdom, originally home to devout followers of the dragons. the dragons were hunted to near extinction due to the ignorant native elinarians, although deep beneath the sruface, they seem to be repopulating rather swiftly. native civilians of eastern elinari were left be as well, and their bloodlines still run strong.
Western Elinari: an abundant expanse of farmland, shared by elinari and the neighboring kingdom as part of a peace treaty. several folks in this area worship deities that are said to have dominion over soil and crops.
Southern Elinari: several tourists come to this area for its gorgeous waterscapes. the area is regarded as the source of the highest quality goods in the entire kingdom, as there have been several factories built in this area (along with a few theme parks).
FLORA
Central/Main Elinari: this area is chiefly abundant in cultivated flowers and herb gardens, with few (if any) wild plants or weeds. there are also flower hedges alongside regular ones for decoration.
Northern/Native Elinari: a dense forest regardless of where in the region you are, though it is slightly more sparse further north, where it gets colder. also heavily populated with shrubs and small grasses.
Eastern Elinari: a tropical forest closer towards the central region, with flora becoming more sparse the closer you get to the ocean. the beaches have the expected grasses, though.
Western Elinari: much like the central region, many of the plants here are cultivated by the residents. chiefly, this consists of various crops, though there are a few seasonal trees like oaks along with vast fields of grass.
Southern Elinari: much of the actual civilization here has expanded into the water, surprisingly. many of the plants here consist of trees like mangroves and firs. there are some fantastical-looking plants growing from the water as well.
GENERAL FAUNA
Central/Main Elinari: very sparse animals adorn this part of the kingdom, save for domesticated pets and/or carrier pigeons.
Northern/Native Elinari: full of mice, wolves, and other forest-dwelling creatures. parts of the woods are kept by nymphs, however, there are also several gods hidden in plain sight. most well-known is azri (oz-ree), who usually presents himself as a large white wolf.
Eastern Elinari: primarily home to birds and fish. a few of the merchants in the village here have cats, and the woods leading towards the center of the kingdom are home to all manner of small reptiles. as far as deities go, the water dragons are the only ones present here. they make their homes beneath the waves.
Western Elinari: this area is more akin to an open plain, so the creatures there have adapted accordingly. some of the farmhands keep dogs on-hand to herd sheep and other cattle. its gods lurk beneath the surface; one of them is quite literally just an ancient undying mole.
Southern Elinari: by far, this area is the most diverse. think of it as the florida of elinari. any sort of creature you can think to find in florida is most likely found here, with the addition of things like peacocks or cylsians. on the subject of cylsians;
CYLSIANS
this list is itemized for easier reading.
Cylsians (sill-see-uhns)
-cylsians, beings of high light energy, reside high in the mountains and scattered amongst deserts. anywhere that makes it easy to bask in the light. they're especially fond of the beaches to the east and south.
-they require affection to survive. the deeper their bond is with their partner/s, the stronger their magic and more complex their transformations. their beastly forms tend to be complex chimeralike hybrids of existing animals.
-a high-power cylsian could use a low-complexity form of their own will to be less noticeable.
-without affection, a cylsian is known as a “loveless”. These cylsians tend to carry keepsakes that were of immense importance to their partner and something the cylsian strongly associates with said partner.
-if a loveless draws on the power of a keepsake, the keepsake loses its power. without power, cylsians slowly become mortal.
-this is known as “the dimming” among cylsians, who are biologically immortal by nature. a cylsian in the midst of a dimming still has a limited time to recover, but cannot once they are “extinguished” (fully mortal).
-cylsians can mate with any other species. if their mate is their partner, it serves to deepen their mutual bond, giving the cylsian/s involved even stronger powers.
-the first known cylsian is said to have protected the queen, seeing her safely into elinari’s borders.
-cylsians revere this progenitor as if they were a god; they view loveless as if they’ve been spurned by the progenitor themself.
-cylsians as a collective do not believe the progenitor to be deceased.
-a cylsian’s life can be judged by their elfish ears in their human form—the longer the ears, the longer they’ve been alive.
OTHER INFO
this carrd is ONLY to cover the world and the custom creatures created for it. this is also based on a previously existing project called interwoven, which means it will draw heavily from it (for those who are familiar with interwoven... yeah <3). this carrd may be updated a LOT between concept and release. don't question it.
